The Three Stooges are an iconic American comedy trio that brought laughter through vaudeville-inspired antics

The spirit of the Three Stooges lives on in the next generations of their family.

In mid-July, members of the Howard family — who have, in different configurations, been part of the Stooges over the years — gathered to celebrate family and the legacy of the vaudeville trio.

Bradley Server, grandson of Curly Howard, shared photos on his Three Stooges Facebook page celebrating the special meetup.

"Yesterday, for the first time ever, Curly's Family, Moe's Family and Shemp's Family - in the form of Me, Curly G, Curly's youngest grandson, Moe's Great Granddaughter Tessa Maurer and Shemp's Great Granddaughter Chandler Isaac - got together to meet face to face and talk family, The Three Stooges, and so much other fun stuff," Server wrote in a July 18 post.

Larry Fine and Moe Howard were the heart of the Three Stooges, with others coming in and out of the comedy group over the years as their third. Shemp performed with the trio before Curly from 1922 to 1932. Curly, who was Moe's younger brother, took over from 1932 to 1946. That year, Curly suffered a stroke that rendered him unable to perform further. His health continued to decline, having another two strokes before his death in 1952.

Shemp then returned from 1947 to 1955. He continued with the group until his death from a heart attack in November 1955.

"For the first time ever I give you… Curly, Moe, and Shemp! Or at least their descendants," Maurer wrote, sharing a photo of the three on her own Facebook.

Server would later address Stooges fans who asked about Larry's descendants. In a follow-up Facebook post on July 19, he wrote in part, "The big question was, of course, what about Larry?!?! Does Larry have any kin? And the answer is YES! AND BOY DOES HE."

"Larry has probably the biggest family of all the Stooges, and that includes one of my favorite people Kurt Lamond, Larry’s great grandson - seen in the pic below hanging with me and Chandler!" he continued.

"Kurt runs Shop Knuckleheads (for all your Stooge needs) and is a wonderfully fun, funny and generous friend who also joins me on Stooge Talk live from time to time... The Howard family frequently sees the Fine family (a real fine family!), but now we have to get Tessa to meet him and all connect together. And what's amazing about all these family members is that they are so wonderful and proud of their heritage and will do anything they can to keep the laughter alive."

He concluded, "I feel so blessed," and encouraged fans to "Go watch some Stooges and share them with the new generations!"
